Cedarwood House is situated in the village of Castletown Geoghegan, with its beautiful St. Michaels Church, Middleton Park House and many historic sights, good pubs, Post Office and Local Shop. There is plenty to see and do for a longer stay as we are within easy reach of the major towns of Mullingar, Tullamore and Athlone, aswell as local attractions such as the Hill of Uisneach, Lough Ennell (Johnathon Swift park), Clonmacnoise, Athlone Castle, Belvedere House and Gardens, Lough Derrevarra to name but a few.
There are a number of Golf Courses in the area including New Forest Golf Club (designed by former Walker Cup Captain Peter McEvoy), Esker Hills and Mullingar Golf Club.
The Famous Kilbeggan Racecourse is 24 furlongs from our door! As is the famous Lockes Distillary, well known for its Whiskey. Kilbeggan is also host to the Midland American Auto Club and Car Show.
For the more adventurous types there are a number of activities to partake in such as Horseriding, Boating, Fishing, Liliput Adventure Centre, Paintballing and Go-Karting.
